| New C4 MapMyRide Group
|
I have setup a new tool for our members to use. MapMyRide has a beta Group area that I have setup a C4 group on. This will allow members to post (upload) rides, create and share routes as well as other typical MapMyRide tools. They also have added mobile applications for Android, iPhone, and BlackBerry devices. For right now, we will use an invite method to get started. Please email Robert with your name and C4 member number to recevive the Invitation Code.

| 2010 Special Olympics Support!
 |
This message is addressed to various members of the local cycling community who have been involved in the past with the Cumberland County team for Special Olympics Cycling. Your knowledge, experience, caring and support have been invaluable in recent SONC-CC Cycling seasons, and we will not be able to have a successful program again this year without continued coaching by local cyclists.
|
| The emphasis of our program this year will be on further developing skills (being smooth through corners, changing gears for hills, etc), safety, and above all, FUN for the athletes. The full schedule for all practices and the two out of town trips is included below. Please let me know if you will be available for any or all of these events. If you know anyone who would like to get involved, please feel free to distribute this information to them, and let me know if there are any questions. |
Regards, Andrew

| Mary & Tom's Ultra Distance Update! Here is an update on Mary & Tom Florian's Ultra Event progress. Look up UMCA and then look under "Special Programs for cycling excellence"" and under that, Ultra-Cup Competition, Current Standings. In the Ultra Cup Competition, riders accumulate points throughout the year for their performance in ultra-races. Currently she is ranked #2 female overall in the Ultra-Cup Competion and her goal is to be ranked #1 by the end of 2010. read more ... |

| FAMPO Bike Ped StudyWe are working on a bike / ped connectivity study for the Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and have developed an on-line survey to assess the community’s biking and walking needs. Bob Miarer is serving on our Steering Committee and doing a great job representing cyclist’s interests in the area.
I was hoping that you could post the link to the online survey on your webpage (by the way, great site!) and forum. So far we have 260 respondents and are hoping to increase that significantly. The link is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FAMPO - we greatly appreciate any help in getting the word out. You can also find more information about the study at www.fampo.org.
Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks again for your help. -Iona

| Walk, Run, Bike, Swim to AfghanistanStarting September 14th, C4 is exercising its' way to the East again this year. This time we are bound for Kabul, Afghansistan 7,222 miles away. Here is another way to have some goals from September 14th thru the Fall season. The team name is easy "Cross Creek Cycling Club". We need up to 20 members to participate per team and there are some alredy registered, so sign up and join C4 in this ongoing event. If more than 20 members want to participate, we can establish additional teams as needed. Flyer....Entry Form....Website/Online Registration....MOI |
| Saturday Ride GroupsWe are re-implementing the assignment/sign up for group leaders for the club ride on Saturdays. If you want to volunteer and sign up, please send Robert an email so he can add you. We would like a primary and an assistant who would become the primary if needed, otherwise will provide assistant help to the pripary on the ride. Once I get a few name I will either add a page with the info, add it to the event listing in the calendar, or both. First come first serve. This will be for all primary groups A, B, C & D. The "A" group os no longer the training competition group. The "A" group is like the other groups but at a higher fitness and skill level and will be a social ride, not a cometition ride. The group for race or compitition training will be a group itself with the focus of, well, competition training & skills development. The ride guidlelines will be updated to reflect the changes soon. |
